Introduction

Santitham Vidhayakhom School is a non-profit educational institution founded by Mrs.Shirin Fozdar under the auspices of the Baha’i Foundation of Thailand in 1967.
Located in the northeast of Thailand, the School dedicates itself to continuing the founder’s and foundation’s traditions of promoting social and economic development in the country.

Specifically,the School aims to provide educational services which promote the moral, intellectual and physical development of its students. Acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values which are of benefit to the individual and society are of primary importance at the School.

School Profile

The School is divided into three sections: Nursery & Kindergarten,Primary and Upper Secondary (Commercial). All these sections are housed in different buildings. Currently, it has a population of 700 students. A vast majority of them come from the villages.

Funding

Since its founding, the School has been charging very low fees to enable the poor children to obtain education. However, the School has been very fortunate in receiving donations from a number of organizations and individuals. The organizations include Thai Wah Co.,Ltd., Canadian International Development Agency, British Embassy, Dutch Embassy. United Nations Women’s Club, A.T.G. Maskati Ltd.

Future

As a member of the International Network of Baha’i Schools, Santitham Vidhayakhom School is now upgrading all its programs. The major emphasis of this development is the provision of education based on the universal principle of the oneness of mankind and the inculculation of high moral standards.

In the coming years, it has plans to add the lower secondary, and to institutionalize a vocational training institute to upgrade the wellbeing and status of women.
